Tailoring in Hoi An - A Swedish Family's Story
Many ZoZo clients are first-time visitors to Hoi An and new to bespoke or custom tailoring. This story shows what the experience can feel like when you design thoughtfully—together—without pressure.
Four family members travelled from Sweden to Hoi An and chose to create their garments side by side at ZoZo Tailors, near An Bang Beach.
For many clients, the first decision isn’t what to make. It’s how the experience should feel.
What They Chose to Make
Each person chose garments to suit how she lives and travels:
- Hanna: black wool–cashmere trousers for structure and all-day comfort
- Alice (1): relaxed blue trousers for movement and long travel days
- Svea: a silk‑mix polka‑dot top with a linen mini skirt for lightness in the heat
- Alice (2): a silk‑mix black top with a flowing silk‑mix long skirt for easy day‑to‑evening wear
Their finished pieces are shown in the photo above.
Fiona (ZoZo’s founder and couture-trained tailor) guided each consultation and fitting personally—helping everyone clarify design choices, compare fabric options, and confirm a realistic schedule before they decided to proceed.
The result was more than garments: four pieces designed for real life, and a shared memory of Hoi An created through choosing well together.
